We recognize that most patients appreciate being well informed on what to expect at their first visit with us. Below is an overview of what your first visit to BellaSmiles of Puyallup will look like. Your first visit isn’t just about us getting to know you, but an opportunity for you to learn more about our practice! We encourage our new patients to ask any questions they may have about their practice during their visit.
Our team will start your appointment by asking you some questions about your medical and dental history. Certain medical conditions or medications can affect your treatment plan, so we will also ask you to list any medications, vitamins, and supplements you are taking and their dosages.
Your dentist will then perform a comprehensive oral exam. This may include x-rays, a non-invasive oral cancer screening, and a periodontal exam to check for signs of gum disease. Once your exam is finished, your dentist will discuss their findings with you. Together, we will create a treatment plan to help you maintain a healthy, functional smile.
If you haven’t seen a dentist in a while, there is no need to worry. You have made an excellent decision by scheduling an appointment with us. We want to help you get your oral health back on track!
We pride ourselves on providing quality, affordable services. We offer many payment options, including CareCredit and our BellaSmiles office plan. We can also prioritize and stagger your treatments to give you the amazing smile you deserve in a timeframe you can afford.
At BellaSmiles of Puyallup, we want you to feel relaxed during your appointments. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable!
Please expect between one hour to hour and a half for your Comprehensive Exam for us to be thorough in diagnosis.
At each visit, our team does a medical history update and reviews any changes (even subtle ones). Even the smallest change in the soft tissues of your mouth will be examined closely. Early detection of oral cancer saves many lives each year, and our team is highly trained to detect even the smallest abnormality.
Who doesn't love that freshly polished feel after a cleaning? Our highly-trained, compassionate registered dental hygienists do more than just polish your teeth. They remove plaque, tartar buildup, probe your gums for signs of periodontal disease, and much more!
While excellent oral health is a partnership between you and our team, we depend on you to make sure your teeth and gums stay strong and healthy between appointments. Together we can create an individual plan with the latest tools and knowledge to help protect your smile.
Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. But it doesn't have to ruin your smile. A targeted, strategic cleaning schedule and a dedicated home care regimen can help keep this chronic condition under control.
